Most projects start with a site that isn't doing its job. First I review it to find out why. Then we agree what it needs: usually a redesign, sometimes a rebrand too, sometimes work on the site you have.
At a glance
Five stages.

What I do, what I need from you, and what you walk away with.
01
Stage 01 / DSC
Discovery
Get the brief straight.
We start with your business, not your website. What it needs to achieve, who it's for, and what's getting in the way right now.
What I do
A call about goals, audience and budget
A look through your current site and analytics
Agree what success looks like, in numbers
What I need from you
Share access to analytics and Search Console
Tell me what's working and what isn't
Name the competitors you keep an eye on
What you getDSC-01
A one-page brief we both sign off
Clear goals and how we'll measure them

02
Stage 02 / RSR
Research
Look at the evidence.
Before anything gets designed, I look at the data. How people search for what you sell, what your competitors rank for, and what's holding your current site back. It tells us whether to start fresh or build on what's there.
What I do
Keyword and search demand research
Competitor and search results analysis
A technical audit of your current site
What I need from you
Answer my follow-up questions
Share any customer or sales insight you have
What you getRSR-02
Audit findings ranked by impact

03
Stage 03 / SOL
Solution
Make the plan.
The findings turn into a plan: a redesign, a rebrand as well, or work on the site you have. You get the sitemap, the stack and a quote with a timeline. Nothing gets built until you've agreed it.
What I do
Map the sitemap and pages to keywords
Choose the stack that suits the job
Wireframes and design direction
A written quote and timeline
What I need from you
Review the plan and push back
Sign off the scope and budget
What you getSOL-03

Stage 04 / DLV
Delivery
Build it properly.
Whether it's a new site or changes to the one you have, the work happens on a staging site you can check as it comes together. Speed, accessibility and SEO are tested before anything goes live.
What I do
Design and development on a staging site
Content migration and redirects
Speed, accessibility and SEO checks
Launch, then close monitoring
What I need from you
Review the work at each checkpoint
Supply content, or approve what I write
What you getDLV-04

05
Stage 05 / OPT
Support & optimisation
Keep improving.
Launch is the halfway point. I track rankings and traffic, keep improving the pages that bring in work, and build what the business needs next.
What I do
Rank and traffic tracking
Updates, security and backups
Content and conversion improvements
A regular call and a shared roadmap
What I need from you
Tell me what's changing in the business
Flag new services or priorities
What you getOPT-05

Switching
Coming from an agency?
Moving over is simpler than it sounds, and nothing has to stop while it happens.
I handle the handover
Tell me who to speak to. I'll collect the access, files and history from your agency, and check nothing's missing before anything changes.
The code is yours
It's written into my contract. You own what I build, so you stay because it works, not because you're tied in.
Hosting your way
I can host the site for you, or work with the hosting you already have.
Nothing stops
Your site stays live and your campaigns keep running while we work out what comes next.
Questions
Things clients ask.
Anything else, ask me directly. You'll get a straight answer.
01Can we skip a stage?
Sometimes. Search work on a live site often starts at Research, because the site and its data already exist. Redesigns run through all five. Skipping Discovery is how sites end up looking good and doing nothing.
02How long does a project take?
It depends on the scope. You'll get a timeline in the Solution stage, before any build work starts, and it won't change without a conversation first.
03How is it priced?
You get a written quote in the Solution stage, based on the plan we've agreed. No build work starts until you've signed it off.
04Do you work on existing sites?
Yes. Most clients come to me because their current site isn't working. The review shows whether it can be built on or needs a fresh approach. More often than not it's a redesign, but I won't sell you one you don't need.
05Do you take on small fixes?
Not as one-off jobs. I do my best work as an ongoing partner, where I know the site and the business behind it. For a quick fix to a template or page-builder site, a local developer will serve you better.
06What happens after launch?
That's stage five, and it's where most of the value is. Most clients keep me on to track, improve and extend the site month after month.
07Will I be dealing with you?
Yes, from the first call to the last report. I build every site myself. If the project needs branding, design, PPC or print, I bring in people I've worked with for years, and I stay your point of contact.
